Croatia, a resort of almost an untouched beauty in a busy Europe, lies on the coast of Adriatic Sea. The ruins of the ancient structures may be of interest for those, who is fond of history and the clean sand and transparent sea attract those, who prefer to spend their holidays on the beach.

Once being a part of communist Yugoslavia, having experienced wars and destructions in 1990-s, now Croatia presents an embodiment of stability and comfort in combination with relatively low prices. The capital of Croatia, Zagreb is now beginning to press such popular tourist destinations of the Central Europe as Prague and Budapest. Zagreb can be divided into 3 parts - the ancient city counting four hundreds years of history with President Palace, St Mark's church; the city of XIX century with cozy restaurants, cafes, theatres and parks; and the modern Zagreb built after World War II. Zagreb is often called the city of museums - the density of museums here exceeds all the limits.

The most visited resort zone of Croatia is the peninsula of Istria. It lies close to the Slovenian border and receives the most of the tourists coming to Croatia.
Those who came by air, land in the airport of Pula. Its population is about 62 000 that makes Pula one of the biggest cities on peninsula. Here you can observe one of the most renowned sights in Croatia - Roman amphitheatre. It's the sixth biggest amphitheatre in the world. Some scientists say that Pula is 3000 years old and was built long ago the birth of the Roman Empire. For a long time the city belonged to Italy and only in 1947 became Yugoslavian.
Umag and Porec are always named among the best, the most comfortable and popular resorts on Istria.
Umag coast length is about 20 kilometers. The Old City looks like many cozy European small cities with narrow tiled streets. The more popularity the resort is gaining the more hotels are building so it's not a problem to find an accommodation. In July the city houses International tennis tournament.

Porec is the biggest resort on Istria and the National Tourist Department named it the main Croatian resort .

The ancient part of Porec counts more than 2000 years of history ad is a must see for those who happened to be in this place. The city is a historic treasure itself; especially interesting is the Etruscan church of VI century.
Rovinj seems to be the most charming and picturesque place on Istria. Originally it was an island, but 250 years ago a channel between Rovinj and Istria was filled in.
